Vegan | Cruelty-Free | Pregnancy-Safe

This creamy mineral sunscreen with SPF 35 and lightweight moisture is great for all skin types, including acne-prone. While the formula has a peachy hue to help neutralize the white cast commonly associated with physical SPF, it’s not tinted—but rather, blends to a natural, skin-like finish. Non-nano zinc oxide (the safest SPF active for our bodies and our oceans) works at skin’s surface to physically prevent UVA and UVB rays from penetrating your skin. All the while, antioxidants fight off environmental and electronic (a.k.a. blue light) damage for three-way protection and premature aging prevention. It's a broad spectrum, mineral sunscreen for your everyday life—yes, every day, all year round.

Note: Mineral sunscreens like zinc oxide can be sensitizing, and those with reactive skin or a history of allergic reactions should perform a patch test before using this or any new sunscreen.

Made with 79% PCR (post consumer recycled) plastic.

HOW: Gently smooth an even, generous layer (about the size of a coin) onto skin. Because mineral sunscreen acts as a barrier, sitting on the surface of the skin, do smooth it on—don’t rub it in the way you would a moisturizer. Use a light touch with this and any products you apply after to avoid makeup pilling.
WHERE: Face and neck. Bonus points for hands—after your eyes, hands are the number two spot that gives away age.
WHEN: AM (every AM), after your moisturizer has fully absorbed into your skin. If wearing makeup, allow 2-3 minutes for the sunscreen to sink in before applying primer or other cosmetics. Even though mineral sunscreen goes to work right away, we recommend following FDA guidelines to wait 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours when in direct sunlight or getting wet.

GOOD TO KNOW: If you’re applying the recommended 1/2 teaspoon daily, you should finish your tube of Guards Up long before the expiration date printed on the crimp. If you aren’t finishing the tube within a few months, you aren't using enough. For the best experience, keep it out of the sun and extreme heat (a.k.a. don't leave it in your car) too.

    Moisturizing, Yet Lightweight

I have very dry skin, and I struggle to find products that are sufficiently moisturizing without being greasy. This sunscreen is exactly that. *Not* greasy. I love the light tint. It's one of the only sunscreens I've used that truly has no white-cast. I even find that it evens out my skin tone a bit (neutral, light.) It's great in the wintertime months, but also light enough to use during the summer. As for the sun protection aspect, I've noticed no problems. I've worn it out without reapplying for a few hours (yes, I know you shouldn't do that, but sometimes I forget) and I haven't experienced any burns. I've been using this sunscreen since my favorite sunscreen got discontinued a few years back, and I don't plan on trying anything else.

    Super Sunscreen

I love this tinted sunscreen. It's light, unscented, absorbs, and stays on without interrupting my foundation. I recommend it.

Pretty good, but smells a bit strange and stings around the eye area a little if you have sensitive skin like I do.

    Pleasantly pleased

This is nice and light overall! It does still have some of the chalky feel initially but that seems to go away quickly and feels light on my skin, which is pretty sensitive and picky with products!

fantastic! no cast, great for dry/acne-prone skin, slather on and go.

love that on busy/lazy days I can just slap this on and leave. very nourishing for my dry skin. I don't notice a cast, but I also do have fair skin. the smell was a little bit jarring at first, but I quickly became accustomed to it. I find that it is much more pleasant than any artificial perfumes. plus, did not flare acne and pairs well with a serum in the morning. I track prices religiously, and this sunscreen is much more cost-effective than comparable alternatives. love Verse's commitment to ethics and sustainability. the only thing I wish could be better is the packaging...it's quite messy
